Welcome to Slo, a neighbourhood coffee shop nestled in the heart of the Fraserhood Community, A place to embrace the unhurried ritual of sipping coffee and to slow down and appreciate the present moment. A small sanctuary for connection, growth, and shared experiences.

In a world that often seems to whirl by in a blur, we believe in the life-affirming necessity of taking and making time. Some of life’s most memorable moments unfold over a cup of coffee—ideas spark, bonds form, and partnerships are sealed. Here at our space, we strive to cultivate a sense of community where people feel not just welcomed, but truly embraced, where every sip is an invitation to share, connect, and create lasting memories together.

This week, meet Evelina, one of our amazing team members at Slo. Not only does she bring warmth and care to every shift, but she’s also the creative force behind Pippsi—the company crafting the delicious vegan spreads, toasts and overnight oats you love here.

1. What’s your favourite drink on the Slo menu?

Whatever is the most funky, sweet and light roast we have on the pour over. Also love our flat white and iced espresso - hard to pick one, it depends on the mood of the day!

2. What’s a fun fact people might not know about you?

I’ve lived in 7 countries.

3. What do you enjoy most about working at the coffee shop?

All the lovely faces I get to see and talk to every day. And having the opportunity to share delicious coffee and food.

4. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I’ve never been to Asia, so I’d love to visit Japan.

5. Who are you currently listening to?

RnB / Soul

6. What’s your favourite spot to hang out in the neighbourhood or city?

Anywhere around the seawall!
